Prisoners on House Arrest

The government has devised a plan to address overcrowding at the island’s penal institution by way of house arrest for remanded prisoners.

The Cabinet says prisoners on remand will be sent home and fitted with monitoring
devices while others will be required to report to a police station on a daily basis.

Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst outlines the other plans in place to reduce the prison
population.
