WOUNDING SUSPECT WANTED BY POLICE

The Police have issued a ‘Wanted Bulletin’ for the immediate arrest of Tony Thomas aka “Scar” of Whenner Road. He is wanted in connection with an alleged wounding incident at Ffryes Beach on Sunday August 6th 2017.

The police are appealing for him to immediately surrender himself at any police station, accompanied by his attorney or a family member.

The general public is WARNED, NOT to make any attempts to engage Thomas if seen, but instead contact the Rapid Response Unit at 764-2310\464-3938, or call the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913\463-3914 without delay.

He is said to have attacked his estranged partner with a hammer. She is said to have lost several of her teeth and sustained serious head injuries and continues to be treated at the hospital.

Meantime, Police are appealing to members of the victim’s family and the general public on a whole to immediately desist from making use of threatening languages, or any adversarial comments on social media or otherwise. In a release form Stratcom, it noted that it is an offence under the Electronic Crimes Act of 2013 for anyone to send by means of an electronic system, any information that is offensive or threatening; or information which is false, causing annoyance, inconvenience, danger, obstruction, insult, injury, intimidation, enmity, hatred or ill will ect…, to any person.

The release warned that anyone found in contravention of this Act is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding two hundred thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years, or to both. Anyone found guilty of this act is also liable to pay a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years, or to both on an indictable conviction.
