Lawmen have made a fresh appeal to anyone with information on the country’s latest homicide, to come forward.
42 year old Charlesworth Richards was gunned down on Wednesday morning, allegedly by individuals claiming that they were members of the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Policy (ONDCP); a claim that has since been dismissed by the Director of the ONDCP Lieutenant Colonel Edward Croft.
Reports are that Richards had recently returned to Antigua after the disappearance of his twin brother 42 year old Craig Richards, who was reported missing since March of this year after blood was discovered in his Bathlodge home.
A police statement issued on Wednesday noted that the Charlesworth’s was discovered around 2:30 am in the Ras Freeman estate in Liberta with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
It said that several spent ammunition shells were recovered from the scene and a silver Kia Sportage Jeep, believed to have been driven by the deceased was also found in the Orange Valley Area, and was taken to Police Headquarters.
It is believed that the killing of Richards is somehow linked to the disappearance of his twin brother months ago.
Police Inspector Frankie Thomas made another appeal to anyone with information of the matter involving both brothers to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3914 or 462-3914.
