Men Involved in Car Crash Released from Hospital

Two of the three men who were involved in a traffic collision on Thursday have been discharged from the Mount St. John’s Hospital.

The driver of the post office bus Neil Underwood along with one of the two passengers Fitzmore Jacobs of Bendals were discharged on Friday after being treated.

The third man who was in the government vehicle when it flipped into a ditch on Thursday, Wesley Weston of Ebenezer remains a patient at the hospital with a broken foot and back pains.

The accident occurred in the vicinity of Gourmet Basket on Sir George Walter Highway at approximately 1:10pm when the grey Kia Rio, license no. A1625 driven by Danny James of Radio Range made an attempt to overtake the government-owned bus, license no. G230.

Sources say that James lost control while overtaking the bus, after his slipper got stuck under the gas pedal and collided into the back of the bus causing it to flip a number of times, totaling the government vehicle.

James has since been charged with Dangerous Driving.
