United Progressive Party (UPP) Member of Parliament for the All Saints East and St Luke Constituency and a recently suspended member of the party Joanne Massiah has lauded the UPP’s first Minister of Finance Dr. Errol Cort.

Massiah who referred to her statements as a confession said that had Dr Court remained the Minister of Finance the UPP would have won the 2014 General Elections.

The MP for the All Saints East and St Luke constituency who was speaking during the 2017 budget debate on Thursday also commended Dr Court for it stewardship during his tenure from 2004 to 2009.

In late November Massiah announced that she will be forming a new political party. Following her announcement she received backlash from United Progressive Party (UPP) Member of Parliament Wilmoth Daniel. He said that any party form by Massiah will be an extension of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party. However Massiah in a direct response to the statement said she welcomes support from any political party.
