Newly installed Caribbean Coordinator for International Men’s Day says that building more jails will not fix the root cause of crime among men within our society.
Michael Stewart who is also a Communications Specialist was speaking during an interview on Monday when he made the comment. He said that most times the root cause of crime among men begins within the household.
He said that many of the males who are currently incarcerated grew up in fatherless homes which maybe one of the main contributor for their actions.
The IMD Coordinator said that that when it comes to rehabilitating these individuals who have committed crimes there should be a focus on how to not only punish but to improve the individual.
