In light of a recent airing of a 60 minute CBS programme which painted a negative picture of Citizenship by Investment Programs in the region, Deputy Head of CIP in Antigua and Barbuda Thomas Anthony has defended the program stating that CIP initiatives in small island states like Antigua and Barbuda not only have the potential to reap major benefits for the country but the ability.

Anthony who was speaking during an interview this morning said that both the resources and capacity are present for these programs to be properly managed in order to be fruitful.

The CIP official also dismissed claims of the program being a threat to Global Security as the due diligence process involved is quite extensive.

He said that dialogues have begun and will continue with Caribbean counterparts in order to educate them and hopefully change some of the negative opinions of these programs.
