The mother of one of the country’s cricketing legends Sir Curtly Ambrose has passed.

Millie Ambrose, who is world-renowned for the support of her son to the ringing of a bell each time he gets a wicket, passed away on Wednesday morning at the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre after a short period of illness.

According to the cricketing great, his mother has been in and out of the hospital for the past few months and subsequently passed yesterday.

He said that the family is holding together despite the difficult time.

The 84 year old was a mother of seven children and was a resident of the Swetes village.
