Police urge vendors to look out for counterfeit cash

Police reports have indicated that there are counterfeit currencies in the air and are prevalent during the carnival season and as such the Police are warning persons to be vigilant.

Sergeant Frankie Thomas who told ZDK news that the police have already received reports of a counterfeit $100 dollar bill that was intercepted by a vendor.

The Police spokesperson said that although the issue is not new and has been affecting vendors especially those in and around carnival city the police are still urging vendors and booth operators to be on the lookout.

He said that the use of counterfeit currencies is a serious offence and any caught engaging in these acts will be dealt with to the full extent of the law.
