After news broke on Monday implicating one of Antigua and Barbuda’s honorees in a growing scandal surrounding the alleged misuse of honors, Sir Anthony Bailey has come forward defending his title.

This comes after an online article was published by the United Kingdom’s “Daily Mail” which states that officials at Buckingham palace were displeased with Anthony Bailey referring to himself as ‘Sir’ after being knighted in Antigua, a title he was not qualified for in the UK.

However according to Sir Bailey while speaking on Observer radio this morning; this is a means of undermining honors given from other countries including Antigua and Barbuda. He also referred to several officials in the UK as have a racist view on the matter.

Sir Bailey continued stating indicating that he was in fact given permission to make use of his title while in the UK.

He further stated that he found the situation very offensive and indicated that something must be done to address what he describes as inequality.
